Silt 61/80

Silt felt a muscle tense in his stomach, this was good. He needed something to do, to try and uncover what happened to Larry. While he doubted this would help, it was better than sitting around, and he felt he had bonded with Marcos, and still had much to ask this wise man, whether the feeling was mutual.

" I'm right behind you wise one, you must know these grounds better than any, so lead the way."

Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98

The inquisitor approached the entrance to the underground construction, alert but without hesitation. While he did not enjoy the prospect of venturing into the unexplored with as little information as he had, he also knew there was little chance he might learn more from others here. It was no different from purging those who tainted magic, he reflected. In a typical case you knew her name, and her appearance, and that she resided in that gloomy forest over there. You knew about her past deeds, but none knew of her camp, and none the extent of her true powers. He was no stranger then, to seeking the ill-defined in uncommon terrain.

He found the window, and with his left hand attempted to tap the magical glass. There were no bodies
* and so he assumed that to step through, at least, was safe. Inside the chamber, he made room for the others to follow through and began surveying his surroundings.

*Unless Shane is still hanging there, in which case, by his position, Marcos'd assume that to step through, at least, was not what'd killed him.

For the Exploration Team (And it really is a team! Woo!)

As mentioned previously, the only sign of danger was that there was a smear of blood from the window and back into the darkness as though a body had been dragged along from the looks of the evidence.

There was nothing in this room except an old side table. The air was moist and musty. There was a closed door on the other side of the room that had been opened recently from the looks of it. Besides that, there was nothing else to see. It was also disturbingly quiet. Ambient noise that should have been coming from the window were not heard.

Yevaud

The bladesmaster saw the paladin enter move to the side and begin to scan the interior. Yevaud pulled about six inches of steel free from the scabbard, and followed the knight's lead. He thought it odd that he could hear nothing of Marcos, and was glad that he had prepared some defensive spells the last time he had had the chance.

Slipping into the room he moved to the side of the window opposite Marcos and motioned for the next person to enter, a spell on the tip of his tongue in case something arrived that needed killing.

ooc got something to send you Larry... I think it may... spice things up.

Seeing Marcos and then yevaud enter through the odd window he tried to hear anything from the other side, and heard oddly nothing at all." You will not be able to hear us once we go inside. Be ready for anything " he said to no one in general and slipped through the opening, and slid into position near Marcos.

Kynnen 73/85

Kynnen jumped up, imagined what might cause the corpse to move in the instant. It might be a zombie, rising to attack him, or a ghost still inhabiting the corpse, wanting to speak to him. It might be a trap, or just a rat inside the cadaver. Whatever it is, it won't be walking, he thought as he brought the falchion down to sever the legs from the corpse, just to be sure.

For Kynnen

A small frog leaped out from under the tattered garment it was hiding under and hopped away from you as fast as it could before diving into a puddle of water.

Silt 61/80

Silt followed suit behind the others, pulling out his blades allthewhile. When he entered, his eyes immediately penetrated the old table, as it seemed the center of attention.

The Undead Grimlock Army Advanced ~Events that occurred days ago.

Sweet had been the kills so far, yet the undead were insatiable in their appetite. The grimlock army had risen from the ground where they had been left to rot during Battle of the Gnomes, and now were driven by a hunger not of this world. Those along their pathway perished in terror and pain.

Slowly, the army advanced Westward from where they had climbed out of the depths of this forum's dark tunnels and made their way to a location that they could not perceive. A driving force led the way. They came to a small forest on the outskirts of a town, where other creatures of the grave had already been doing business...but had left for now. The grimlocks had no reason to care for this. They continued onward, unhindered by anyone until they arrived at a location where much life was present. Cats, actually. They smelled cats. The dead grimlocks surrounded the area and charged in, their rusty weapons and decaying claws ripping into all life they encountered. The screams of life being ended in such mass numbers was not heard however, and no rescuing hero would save these poor beasts as they died in terror at the sight of their killers as they perished.

All too soon, it was over. None had survived. The grimlocks however were not filled, nor their bloodlust sedated. They continued onward, driven by a powerful force.

OOC>>>The camp where Liam lived and the party had resided temporarily has now been destroyed along with all those cats that refuged there.

Liam...come and get it.

The once picturesque glade was ruined. The surrounding trees and foliage that once had burst with emerald green life lay in tatters, scarred by blood and claws and hate. The wind moaned quietly through the shattered cabin, whose windows stared sightlessly at the carnage with broken panes. Flies gathered greedily over the small pitiful corpses, feeding on the wake of death left behind. Blood and fur were everywhere, covered with dust and decay. Nothing moved, except for the shimmering from the hot sun and the lustful flies. Then, something stirred on the edge of the destruction, disturbing some of the flies who flew up in a cloud with annoyance before alighting on another corpse.

It was hard to tell what manner of creature it was, beneath the filth and mud that caked its hide. Its lackluster eyes blinked gnats away, half-lidded from the shimmering heat. The miserable creature could still smell the stench of fear beneath the death, and the hate and lust of those who had attacked with such wanton vengeance. Hip bones sticking gauntly from the ragged body, the dusty mass picked its way over to the cabin, avoiding the bodies as best as it was able. Unseeing, glazed eyes of a large tiger stared almost accusingly at the creature as it walked by, causing the scrawny thing to flinch away as if stung.

In the cabin, nothing remained untouched. Everything broken and shattered, defiled in some way. One far wall had been caved in maliciously, causing a pool of dirty water to collect in the corner. Shambling over, the creature drank from the mud thirstily. Raising its head and sloppily licking its muddied maw, it pawed in the collapsed corners and piles of ruin of the cabin. Giving up, it staggered back out to the shattered deck, daylight streaming jaggedly through the broken roof. Collapsing next to the accusatory corpse, riling up a cloud of dust, the ragged creature peered around at the carnage again, ears flicking back and forth distractedly from the flies. As if coming to a decision, it rose up with claws unsheathed. Walking over to the first pile of bloodied, matted bodies, it began to scratch tiredly at the dirt.

Many hours later, the wind blew mournfully over the fresh mounds of dirt and rocks marking the graves of the slaughtered innocent. Whistling emptily through the cabin, the breeze coiled and twisted around the dying trees lining the path of destruction in the direction of the departed grimlocks. A brown leaf, disturbed from its perch by the passing wind, slowly fell to cover a fresh paw print winding a path southeastward.

ooc- how’s that for a comeback? am I a bit rusty? I hope not… :x
