Which quest must I complete before I can access the half of the map containing the Sunken City, Pyramid, Talricks Cove and so on............I have traveled the land looking for a path joining the two areas, no luck, I have the underwater masks which allowed me to look for an underwater passage....no luck....so there must be a quest which opens access to the side I cannot get to.........suggestions please.......thanks

The second Wizards' Guild quest will let you get there. Just like Dragonspire let you move on, another dungeon will let you move on to the Lost Sea area.

Seek the answer after the sphinx... or vanish in just the right spots. But beware... if you aren't careful, you can blow some other quests. Nothing major, but it's worth being careful about. Don't go rushing any pirates on the other side...

*edit* Whoops! Make that the *third* Wizards' Guild quest... but you can't get that until you retrieve the seeds of the living tree, which isn't often found on this side. Common belief is that those quests should have been switched, or else there was a way to get enough seeds from Oakenmir.

So since the quests are kind of busted, let me just tell you that your path goes through the Shrine of Anephas...

Are you stuck in Anephas's Shrine or can you not enter the shrine at all?

I'm not stuck anywhere........I just like to explore everywhere before I do a whole lot in any new area......and when I couldn't access the other half of the map, I got curious on how to get there...

BUNGLEAU......... why shouln't I rush any pirates on the other side of the map.........with Waywerns'(spelling) good directions, I got the vanish thing down pat.........where's a good spot to try to vanish over to the other side of the map....I got the sunken treasure quest from the guy that wanted the poor little longtooth fur.....can I go look for that without messing up any quests...........going off on my own make the game seem less structured.........thanks

Killing the pirates is part of a 3rd guild quest. The 2nd is killing the Darkened One. Make sure you have returned to Brimloch Roon and have undertaken the 3rd quest before killing the pirates. Otherwise that quest is forfeit.

Likewise: Make sure you have got the treant seeds before you destroy the aegis at the shrine entrance.

Bsftcs has got you the right answer. The pirates are part of another quest, and the preceding one is in the shrine itself. So you would lose out on the chance to finish that quest, which is only som XP and gold at this point.

As for vanishing, there's a little spot in the area in front of the shrine where you can see a thin strip of trees and some sand on the other side. Try there...

It depends on what you are meaning by the word "can" [img]smile.gif[/img]

1. The regular way to the second part of the map goes through the Shrine. It's the only regular way there. But you can also vanish through rhe forest to the right from the shrine there. Also, you need not the Staff of Power when you want to get into the shrine, you can vanisch behind the magical lock.

2. But there are several quests which you should do before you enter the second part of the map. See the posts above. The quests aren't critical for the game but they are important for your guild level in the guilds.

Especially critical are the Bushi Dojo quests. The Enlightement trait is guild level 6 trait so that you need to reach guild level 6 if you are planning zenmasters in your party. Therefore:
(a) Enter the Shrine with "Kill the Darkened One" quest. Kill that beast, return to the guild, and gain a guild level (it should be level 5).
(b) Take the "Kill Bloodbeard" quest. Bloodbeard is right behind the Shrine and you will meet him no matter whether you use the way through the shrine or the vanishing through the forest method. Now, it does not matter how you reach Bloodbeard. Kill him, return, and get guild level 6.
