Garlic on Valentine's Day? Make sure you have salad after. The chlorophyll in greens helps neutralize bad breath. This is why parsley works so well.

As for me, it's a Saturday, nothing more. See this thread for my view of VD and holidays in general. I have a test that day (Saturday tests suck...it feels like you have half a weekend), then I'll do errands for the rest of the day. At night, while everyone else is waiting 2+ hours to get a table in a restaurant, I'll order a pizza (the sum total of my celebrating) and do my taxes (expecting a decent refund, and have to get the thing done early for financial aid purposes at school). In other words, no big deal for me. Never has been. I treat it like any other day; if it was during the week, I would offer to work overtime to give others off, just to rake in the extra cash. I always get raked over the coals about it at work, too (I work with mostly females, and it annoys them that I do not share their enthusiasm).

Good luck on the test, Nerull. Pizza..hey, that's pretty good in my book. In fact if my fiance wasn't so keen on going out for the day, I'd order in and snuggle in front of a good movie or just listen to music.

I usually boycot Valentine's day because I think it is not romantic at all to give something special (flowers, cards, whatever) to someone on a set date. If you're really romantic you would do it on any given date, I'd say.
But this year I might change my plan. There's this girl I like very much, and we're very good friends as it is right now, but I'm not too sure about how things could work out. She already let me know she's very glad with the friendship we have right now, but there sure as hell is a lot of chemistry between the two of us, so she might just be a little cautious or afraid or something Some Valentine convincing can't do much harm then Might deliver some roses to her house or something, haven't figured it out yet. |

I made the mistake of not doing anything "special" on V-day during the first year of our marriage. I still get lectured by it.
This Saturday, she'll be getting an overly expensive box of Godiva Chocholates.

Gangrell, what kind of show? Aww,hey, you never know what might happen- keep your options open!
Link, sounds like she's pretty special to you. Valentine's day's a good time to do a little something and see how she reacts, too. No matter what does or doesn't happen, you've got a great friend it seems! Larry...LOL! I bet! Nacht hasn't forgot one since the first, either!

Yeah Cloudy, giving valentine's cards to anyone but a romantic interest is just wierd....well it would be considered wierd in the UK as Epona said. Personally I've never sent or received one in my life, wonder what that says?
