Arafat should have had his ass handed to him back in the 80's. He's a self admitted terrorist with absolutely no spine or backbone whatsoever. Give the sum b**ch a Stone Cold Stunner and be done with it!

How bout this....

Since Isreal didnt exist before WW2, and was only created out of imagined guilt for "Nazi Atrocities" maybe we should create a nation of Palestine for "Israeli Atrocities"? I am realy getting sick of hearing Isreal bitch and whine about how their people have been persecuted for centuries and the whole Arab world is against them. From a logical stand point , wouldnt anyone be opposed to having a neighbor forced upon them??When was the last time a countrie was created out of thin air?? I think its sink or swim time for them. Either invade the west bank and Gaza strip to eliminate the Palestinian threat OR give the people of Palestine a place of there own. I also think that our president should keep his friggin mouth shut and our troops out of the area. Isreal is definately NOT our problem. American leaders poking around in things that were none of their businiess was what caused 9/11 in the first place. If Israeli leadership wasnt such a bunch of self important little pricks the rest of the region wouldnt have it in for them. If they took the time to talk to neighboring leaders instead of running to NATO or some other 3rd party to fix all their troubles they wouldnt have the situation they have now!! It is kind of like calling the cops every time your neighbors dog barks instead of just going next door and talking to your neighbor about it. By the time you do go next door, your neighbor is probably going to tell you to shove it. That is what is happening now. For years Isreal has run to the U.S. for help with Arafat and now after all this time they claim to want peace. All I can say is that maybe they should have thought of that sooner. Isreal made their own bed , I think it is time we let them lay in it.

The State of Israel was founded upon militant Jewish terrorism against Britain (the power mandated to rule Palestine after the Turkish Empire collapsed) and subsequently terrorism against UN officials who were simply doing the job internationally entrusted to them.
Mr Shamir, a recent and much revered Israeli leader, a few years back, was a ruthless terrorist commander a few decades back.
It is simply incoherent for a state, whose very existence is founded upon the experience that terrorism works, should be killing people in Palestine to try and prove that terrorism does not work.
Hey don't go blaming Israel just because Britain and the UN didn't know how to deal with Terrorism

This was posted by Neb but seems to be the general consensus:

Palestine should be allowed to be a free state.... If they get a proper leader instead of Arafat.
Problem is that Arafat was elected in a democratic fashion. Unlike our president.

Here's a quote from a column in todays paper:
Quote:
But as often happens in such cases, Bush most likely convinced himself, too. That's why he didn't see how odd it looks for him to demand that the Palestinians get rid of Yasser Arafat. Arafat got 88 percent of the vote in an election in which 80 percent of the voters turned out. The election was monitored by international observers, among them Jimmy Carter, who found fewer irregularities than later turned up in Florida. New elections were supposed to have been held in January 1999 but have been delayed by repeated crises and are now scheduled for next January.
Here's a link to the rest of the column. BTW it's by Molly Ivans.

Before you all go blaming people left and right, go and read a book called "Exodus" by Leon Uris. It tells the story of the formation of Israel, and you will all see how you are wrong, trying to blame just one single group, or one group more than others.

Before the formation of Israel the newcomer Jews had brought prosperity to the region, such that had not been seen in 2000 years. The truth of the matter is when the UK left and Israel was formed, they were outnumbered and outgunned by the Arabs. Israel have whooped the Arabs butts everytime the Arabs have attempted to destroy Israel.

Anti- Israel?

That’s a very dangerous term to be bandying about.
What exactly do you mean by anti-Israel?
Do you mean anti-Semitic?
Anti-Zionist?
What?
Don't think too much of it, i was only wondering if you have a thing against Israel, maybe if you are pro Palestine ? I'm not accusing you of anything here, it just sounded to me that you have sympathies for the Palestinians. And if you do, still no harm done, everyone is entitled to his own opinion. I was just curious, that's all.
