a little OFF TOPIC, but I was reading that they were going to do FF XIcompletely online, and that they were going to design some bosses that could not be defeated unless people teamed up against them. I was just wondering how u feel about that I think it sucks, since your would have to pay for the online service. Personally I feel that when I spend $50 on a video game, then that's enough of a commitment to it, rather than spending money every month to play it online.

I agree
I mean who wants to pay money to play a game every month. I would rather a brand new FF game (not online) with heaps of new and extra stuff.

Funny, that's exactly how I feel. FFXI is going to be different from any other FF ever created. It's online, and the single player mode isn't going to be quite as fun as multiplayer. Hopefully after this one, it will go back to normal.(Same thing I said for Zelda.) I'll be playing NWN so much I won't *need* another online game. I may buy it though depending on the price tag.

Yes. IIRC Then FFXI Will Be Completly Online, And I Can't Say I'm Looking Forward To It. I Think The Fact That Its Completly Online Will Dissuade People From Buying It, And Square Will Go Back To Normal In FFXII

Actualy - an online FF game could be pretty cool - I mean its got turn based combat already, plus FF is good at large worlds with massive freedom of movement. Think about it - the main strategy in combat is in the equipment - with the right materias in FF7 (my fave) you could potentialy end up with 3 chars with 9999HP and 9999MP, and still have space for massive attack spells and so on.(look, Ive killed all three weapons so I know what I say here)

This stuff is just made for translating to an MMORPG (hate that phrase) - its tolerant of crap connections and if done correctly should favour varied partys.

well I already am paying to play online with PSO, and its going just fine, I hear the EU version was free even!! O_o

As for FFXI, I know that I won't be playing it, but just trying out a Moogle might be cool, heh then id up and probably quit... lol NWN will be consuming whats left of my free time too anyway!
