Ketchup is made from tomatoes. (should be called tomatoe sauce)
Soya sauce is made from fermented soya beans.

Also honestly who hasn't heard of "soya sauce" its almost as common as table salt.

Also the brand "Kikkoman" is a famous japanese brand of soya sauce that can be used to dip with sushi or any oriental cooking.

Sorry to have a big thing about this its just that I personally find it offencive when people get asian things mix up.

since you know something about asian. do you know that we overhere call it ketchup because of kicap? I never heard of soy sauce before. If you go to the shop and you said ketchup ( kicap ). everybody will know what you want but if you say soy sauce. nobody knows what you want. they'll say " soi sos? nay kong mat yeh ah dailou? "
