Tech Question: What Are the Steps to transfer from BG1 to BG2?

I have the final save from BG1 and I want to import my character from BG1 to BG2. How does one go about cutting and pasting from the final save and putting it into BG2? Please give me a step by step instruction because I am r...e...a...l s...l...o...w on the uptake. Thanks ahead of time!

hi! what to do is find the folder where your old save is. even if you uninstall it will be inside the black isle/ baldur folder named save. the one named final save0000 is the one you want, or i guess any other you feel you want to use. cut it out.

go to the folder you have installed the SOA game in. if you have started playing before there will be a save folder created, but if you havent started a game at all yet, it wont be there. find the save folder, open it and paste the game you cut before in there.

in character creation, after you start a new game, select import option. select saved game rather than character file. the name of your saved game (final save) from bg i should be there in a box. click on it to highlight and select next.then pick the name of the player created character you want.

choose appearance and skill points, spells and the like for those classes- , and keep clicking done till the game starts.
