From what I can find, all the spider experts say the same thing. Daddy Longlegs venom hasn't been officially studied at all. It's possible that, ounce per ounce, their venom is quite toxic. But they are not considered a threat to humans because they produce such a minute quantity and the fangs are unable to penetrate human skin. As a matter of fact, from what they can see, this spider doesn't even try to bite. Only get away and hide. My kind of bug.

Good idea, come and vist New Zealand where nothing at all is remotely poisonous or in fact bites at all.

Yeah, Australia is great. I've only been once for three weeks, but I had a good time nonetheless. I don't remember even coming into contact with anything remotely dangerous-looking. Well, apart from the smelly air-stewardess on the flight down there.

I think the trick is not to think about anything negative. The chance that you actually do bump into anything poisonous or particularly nasty-looking is relatively small. Besides, there are also koalas, wombats and kangaroos, and they're all lovely animals.

I'd pack up and go to Oz again in an instant if someone had a few dollars to spare me. Ziroc?
