If that's the case they probably should've cut off the monthly payment to blizzard that allowed the kid to PLAY WoW in the bloody first place.

Is any parent here under the daft impression that video games influence children to use violence in the real world?

If anything I think it is a bloody good tool to VENT such violence/anger that youngins may have in a safer environment than say, a boxing ring or in a schoolyard punchup.

[/QUOTE]There is some good evidence about television shows bringing out violent impulses in children, I read something a few years ago about the relationship between kids pretending to be power rangers and injuries resulting from it, and my oldest brother was no longer allowed to watch the Incredible Hulk when after seeing it he would "hulk out" and beat on us, granted these are generally dealing with very young impressionable children, not teens as would be the case in most video game related problems, but there are some correlations, personally I think a bit of actual parenting could solve most of the problems with youth the world over.

otherwise, I agree wholeheartedly.

Yeah, well don't forget to factor in the fact that kids who sit there playing video games all day are more likely to get fat and lazy. It's hard to go out and cause mayhem and violence when your Type 2 (f/k/a "adult onset") diabetes is acting up on you.
