Davros thinks all his Christmases have come at once! Even the Brits had to resort to our swim team being disqualified to beat us. Shame that you can't get disqualified for smashing the ball all over the ground in cricket.

Oh, and round one to Pieter in the Semi's of the 100m (just). Hmm, his training can't be too bad if he is throwing thaose sort of times now can it /

Hmm, there's a difference between 100 meters and 200 meters. He didn't do much training on the longer distance, but the 100 meters... Anyway, I just heard a radio interview with him. He was far from happy with his race, actually... So I either guess Ian Thorpe was taking it easy this race (just the semi's) or Van den Hoogenband is still faster than Thorpedo, even with a bad race...

6 gold medals in 7 events speak for themselves I guess . And the way he swam over the top of Irvin in the medley relay was unbelievable (unless your an Aussie and expect that sort of thing from him all the time ).

Ah well, at least we Dutchies (read: inhabitants of Eindhoven) still got Inge de Bruijn. Three times gold isn't bad either...

Hehe, then I'll see ya later then.
Anyway, Pieter van den Hoogenband only had 3 silver medals, so I'm the first to admit Ian Thorpe was a lot better during the World Championships. Congratiolations with that! Though Pieter was only disappointed about the 100 meters, where he lost with only a few hundreds of a second (and for a moment thought he actually won...). Really, that's even worse than losing big time: thinking you've won, and then it turns out you didn't...

I wouldn't call being pipped to the post "having your arse kicked!" Also Thorpie won at least the same number of Olympic Golds as Hoogie plus a silver extra did he not?

Glad to see the Thorpeedo is powering now however
