Trying to get BG (the 3 disc set) to run on a new laptop(XP), has plenty of RAM but the game will freeze for about half a second every 6 or 7 seconds. I have only the basic minimal processes running in the background. Is there virtual memory settings that might help or anything else you guys can come up with?

What are the specs of the laptop?

Well, what are you virtual memory settings at just now? You should set the minimum to half of your memory, if you have more than 512, and just keep the max at the default setting.

Thanks for your reply, the laptop has 480mb of RAM, and a 1.6 ghz AMD.

Well the specs are fine. Just one thing - what res are you playing on? And do you have 3d mode (cant remember what you call the actually thing, 3d something IIRC) enabled?

Hi, currently the resolution is set on 1024 x 768. And it is still skipping. I have the virtual memonry set to 100-800. I am not sure wich 3-d settings you are talking about though.
