The only thing wisdom and intelligence is useful for is lore.

Actually I am fairly certain that a high Wisdom score gives a magic defence adjective (bonus Vs. spells that effect the mind)

to be sincere, im not sure if it affects saving throws in general, id say that it doesnt, but some spells descriptions say things like "the victim has to do a saving throw according to his wisdom..." (not exact words, ive tried to translate it from spanish), so i think that some spells (spells that affect the mind, like xrayted82 said)

I'm a D&D semi-veteran and I'd have to say Wisdom is important mainly for the magical defense adjustment VS spell bonuses. VS spell refers to mind control as well as most effects such as Fireball spells (but not from wands, that's a save VS wands I think). Intelligence really has no function for anyone other than a mage save for lore, and good roleplaying. I'd hate to roleplay a 3 int.

The wisdom score is supposed to be related to certain bonuses/penalties for saving throws against mind-affecting spells.
I have heard that at least in BG II certain options in some dialogues are only available for pcs with a high intelligence score. ------------------ So long !
