I'm guessing that there's more 'grown-ups' than 'kids'.
Interesting.

stormblade, you dont need a random sample of the thread - the thread is pretty much already a random sample. heres the average:

15+21+21+29+28+13+17+20+30+16+28+29+30+19+23+36+12 +26+18+29+38+21+19+17+16+46+14+23+30+26+24+32+13+2 7+31+32/36

hell im not working that out in my head at this time of night, time for a calculator...

869/36
24.13 and a bit. ignoring all slightly ambiguos posts, and accept that there will be liars out there. probly people to embarrased that their over a century old and still playing kids games. which some people see bg as. fools.

if i was sober, and it was three hours earlier i could give you a margin of error on that based on the number of responses, but i cant rememer the formula.

so the average age for playing bg is actualy adult. wayhay. wait till i show me evil, game hating, technophobic mother that.

if you want more advanced stats ask and im sure someone else insane and bored enough to work them out will show up.

*dies*

I'm 40, and it never occured to me that there was an age too old to play computer games. I'm a physician. I like RPG's and strategy games. The other physician I work with is older, late 50's I think. He plays computer games too, though mainly strategy games.

I'm 26, been playing computergames since I was 12, except for the years between 18 21 when I got a little bit too much involved with girls and drugs. But I discovered BG when I was 23, and not many games have been played since unless they are made with the Infinity Engine. Before the Dark Ages (that is age 18-21) I was starting playing ADD a bit but never got that much involved, we played twice a week or so. and when I found BG it all come back to me. Man what a feeling.

Where's Fljotsdale?? She'd be the perfect example to dispel this young man's somewhat outdated notions of who plays CRPGs, being a 64-year old woman *gasp*

THANK GOD teenage boys aren't the only ones to play it, because then I'd have HATED this forum, LOL. I hasten to add that most teenage boys that hang around here are pretty palatable so far, though

I'm 21 and I honestly believe that even if I were 99 years old I'd still be playing BG and other games like it. I started playing pen 'n' paper D&D in middle school, at around the age of 10 or 11, so when I spied Baldurs Gate 1 on the racks of my local computer game store whenever it was that it first came out, and noticing it was a D&D system game set in Forgotten Realms, this piqued my interest. Checking out the pictures on the back of the box, I noticed that it wasn't quite like those old school D&D games with the deplorable graphics and crappy gameplay. I bought the game on a whim, brought it back home and installed it..............and the rest is history
