I've always found Donut's sig deeply intriguing and enigmatic... What could it signify, a cannon firing at a chicken (?) on a unicycle?

It's not a unicycle - it's a football. But you're right, it is deeply symbolic. Art mirroring real life!

My mistake -- thought it was a unicycle.

I shall continue to ponder the inscrutable message concealed behind Donut's sig... (And they say we East Asians are inscrutable!)
