I am in Watchers keep. Just entered, cleared everything, started a fire on the stove..

Got a bell, a candle, some Elminsters books and some other book and scrolls about some ritual, there is this Statue thing where there is this disc thing, when i remove the disc, all the statues come to life and attack. If i leave the purple disc, and ADD a bell, the statues attack too. Am i supposed to be doing something whereby the statues do NOT attack me? what exactly am i supposed to do with the bell and candle, and which "book" and what do i do with it?

I am still in SoA and have not defeated Bodhi or Irenicus yet, but wanted to come here (to WK) to get some good items and things. I have completed UNderdark, etc, but am up to the point where i have commisioned people to fight Bodhi with me.

These statues are tough! casting that druid swam thing on me and all.
any help is apreciated

"Evergreen" great Druid level 14

We must be at about the same level and I am not sure how much you want to know.. but you do have to kill the statues...There are three scrolls that will tell you what to do with the bell, book and candle but killing the statues is part of it...

Did the level yesterday with my Ch2 guys. We haven't done anything much yet, and experience is a big limiting factor. Killing the statues gave me a hard time as I have only Korgan as a Fighter, with Jaheira and Viconia as backup.
My front line is exclusively PC thieves( playing multiplayer) and they're weak ones.
You'll need at least level one magic weapons to hit. I was able to hit the smaller statues with a regular shortbow and arrows. The big Golem is difficult to kill and hits hard - use a Girdle of Bluntness to defend whoever has to go one on one with him for extra protection, and keep healing up with your cleric line.
Traps are effective against them. The archer statue is susceptible to the reflection shield, if you have it(I didn't) and he is also susceptible to poisons. I used the fast Tuigan bow with an Assassin hasted on them. Poison galore!
