Went into a house near the Splurging Sturgeon inn (same area). On 1st floor I found an open book in a little room. You can just look into the book nothing else. What's the deal with this book?

You have to be over 18 to look at those kinds of books, Jan.
 Actually that's a new one to me. I guess I don't explore to THAT level of detail. Maybe it's Mr. Baggins' log book for his kobold integration project, and it's written with invisible ink.
