what is a "Excel spreadsheet cell reference" please please please explain, it is a serious matter. thx in ad

I think that it is the letter and column of the cell. For example the first cell's cell reference would be the letter "A" and "1" = Cell Reference A1.

This is pretty handy to know because when you enter formulas such as
sum=(A1,A2,A3,A4) then it become pretty darn difficult.

If I'm wrong then slap me! (But I'll imprisonment you!)

"About cell and range references
A reference identifies a cell or a range of cells on a worksheet and tells Microsoft Excel where to look for the values or data you want to use in a formula. The A1 vs. the R1C1 reference style
The A1 reference style By default, Excel uses the A1 reference style, which refers to columns with letters (A through IV, for a total of 256 columns) and refers to rows with numbers (1 through 65536).
