The Y2K is the world's first turbine powered street legal motorcycle of its type. Powered by a Rolls Royce Allison gas turbine engine running on diesel fuel, the Y2K has demonstrated over 300 horsepower and 425 ft/lbs of torque on the Dyno Jet 200

I've allready ordered one (in my dreams).

One thing I looked for, but didn't see, on a quick perusal of the page was the fuel economy figures - turbines are notoriously inefficient, especially at idle. I'd also be interested in seeing some acceleration figures. Fast changes in rpm aren't a forte of turbines either. Two reasons why experimental turbine cars never made it to market in the sixties.

OMG. I am perfectly happy with my 125cc scooters thank you very much - anything more than 70mph on 2 wheels gives me the willies. Wouldn't get me on something that powerful if my life depended on it!

Saw it on TV the other night, problem is that it takes a couple seconds between throttle input and power change. "OOPS THERE GOES A RED LIGHT!"

Also it makes more power the faster it goes... so at low speeds it's actually not as strong as a decent street bike, and it's a huge bike. A Hyabusa would hand it it's a$$ on anything but a salt flats.

A wheel base how long do not bother taking it to a twisty road. And as for putting diesel into the tank, just use jet A fuel, cheaper and more calories. And how the hell did they make it quiet enough to make it street legal?

Anyway this bike is faster...v

I'm all for horsepower and speed, but riding a jet engine is a little too much. I wonder who the first person to kill themselves on this is going to be?
