Have just decided to play the game again but, after
a year i've forgotten some stuff. O

In the crypt, after opening the sealed door, there
are a bunch of rooms with coffins in. In one of
the rooms there is a button right in the corner.
Does this button do anything/serve any purpose?
(The room is one south, one east from the room
with the corridor the wizard/warrior spirits
come to fight you)

Thanks in advance.

Hi eddie-c!

Truthfully, I'm not certain exactly where in the crypt you are -
Perhaps if you look on this map
http://www.volberding.com/WHints/Mas...ames_Crypt.htm
(hope that works) you can tell us in relationship to where Xignal has letters on the map?
I'm sure it must do something, I just can't remember what at the moment.

Hi Wyvern,
hope you're well.

If you look at the map, the room with the button is the
one immediately left of "K". (The dead-end room shown)

That's where I thought you meant and I honestly don't remember what it does! Hopefully someone will come along soon and tell us. Must open some gate or door - but it is likely that you don't see that opening so you don't realize that it did something.
I think there was a gate just before the Warrior and Wizard rooms are located.

The buttons hidden behind coffins open secret rooms nearby. Unfortunately Volberding's maps are not very descriptive when it comes to hidden rooms, so I made a few maps detailing all the secret rooms in the game. They are posted in this thread and there you will find exactly what you are looking for in relation to the crypt.

Awesome. Many thanks for that info.
Didn't even know there were secret rooms in this part of the crypt.

One question for you - have gotten into rooms "B" but
am not able to get into "A". Is there another button
to open that room? (Can't find it - have illuminate
and spirit eye cast)

Always remember: X marks the spot.

To gain access to room A you have to press the button situated at point XA. The button is situated right in the middle of the X on that east wall. You have to move an upright coffin (or a stack of crates) to get to the button. It is very cleverly concealed.

Dang! Concealed is an understatement.

I remember when i first came to these forums back in 2001,
seeing the messages about using illuminate & spirit eye
to find "hidden" stuff.... yet that button doesn't show
with those spells. I had to be literally right against
the wall to see it.

Thanks for the help. Almost time to hit Ishad N'ha,
just need to make a couple of Rumphy runs I think. O
