Hi All,
I've completed BG2 more times than I care to remember - every character set and combination of alignments. What should I look to spend my well earned money on now?

BG was soooo good, I'm afraid all else will pale in comparison. However, I'm sure that's not the case and there are some pretty good RPGs out there.

Online is out of the question with 56K modem (tell me I'm wrong).
Looked at NWN but heard some pretty bad reviews.
Played demo disk of Icewind Dale - pretty good but less character options than BG.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Well if you going just for RPG, try out IWD or Planescape Torment. IWD 2 is out now, but if you have never played IWD, play the first one first (duh ).

But if you going for any genere, go out and get MediEval Total:War, its awsome.

Planescape : Torment. Tough to find but well worth it.

NWN - if you can run it its ace. Check out the activity in the NWN forum.

IDW & IWD 2 - good, but not great. Something to occupy time between BG2 sessions.

Morrowind - Good supposedly, but not a chance in hell of it running on this decrepit pievce of junk on my desk. The previous one, Daggerfall, was excellent when it wasnt bugged.

Online play on a 56K will be frustrating, but possible. RPGs tend to be one of the more forgiving genres - FPS really suffer from lag.

There's still some fun stuff to do in BG2. Monster Spawn codes for example. I once pitted my party against every dragon in the game. Try completing the game using a party made completely out of Ctrl-Qed NPCs. The possibilities are endless....

Maybe you should take a break fromg RPGs. after completing SUCH a GREAT seris, the other RPGs dont really compare. maybe if you tried a differnt style of game for a while, and then went back to RPGs. that way, they may seem "better" then if you played them right after bg seris. just a thought.

If you post your system specs it would help. Personally, I like Betrayal at Krondor. It's an ancient game ('91?) and free, but is very fun. Just do a search for it in Yahoo or whatever, and download. The graphics are terrible, but the gameplay is good.

fallout 2 or arcanum. Both have excellent stories, and both are a bit tougher than BG2.

Okay, RPG's are Morrowind and Wiz8, the best of the best.
Others include Warcraft 3, Empire Earth, Sim City (wait till 4000 comes out though) try the Quake games also. That should fill your needs while you wait for a new game.
