Ok so I have managed to get the portal working and have gone and met up with the luremaster...
.
.
This is where it gets tricky , trying to defeat those spectrals , please if anyone could give me advice on how this is to be done , it would be greatly appreciated..
.
.
My party consists of a Palladin, Ranger, Cleric, fighter/cleric, thief, and a mage.
.
.
Forumites I humbly ask of any advice.

Thanking you in advance

Tricky one this. The way I did it was with big summoned creatures, shambling mounds, elementals etc. They divert enough of the spectrals attacks to give you some breathing space.

Before you speak to the loremaster try and find a nook or cranny to position your party in with the fighters forming a screen at the front. This should give your mages and clerics breathing space to cast spells. Then try and take uot the mage spectrals first to prevent those area effect spells. I personally think you might struggle with only one mage and no druid.

On a different note do you mind me asking why you have a pure thief in the party? I always found them to be good for nothing but scouting traps and opening locks.

Try this:

Buff up with every conceivable protection spell you can think of before you enter the portal. Prot from Evil, Prayer, Recitation, Courage, Hope, Prot from Fire, Prot from lightning, magic resistance, and Entropy shield for those that can cast it. Then use potions of speed (not haste!). The battle is a long one and haste will leave your party fatigued before you finish the fight. Then enter the portal.

Right before the Luremaster appears, give your party instructions to scatter! Send them off in various directions to the right and left. This way, any dispel magics will at worst affect one or two
characters when the spectral mages pop in! If you can, try to target the Luremaster with ranged weapons but that's only an added bonus if it works.

When the spectral heroes pop in - get right into their faces! try to take out the spectral mages first (upper left and upper right corners) as their dispel magics can be devastating. Ignore the luremaster! He's mostly going to pop around with those annoying dimension doors and the heroes are the more immediate threat! As the spectral heroes go down, take the freed up party member and double up on the remaining spectral heroes.

You should be able to take out the heroes in short order. That leaves the luremaster himself. Switch to ranged weapons and take him out! One dirty trick you can use is to start dumping death fogs and spike growths around the perimeter of the room. The luremaster hardly even teleports into the center of the room, so use that to your advatange! stay in the center, spread area effect spells around the perimeter and wail away with ranged weapons! He's stubborn but he will go down!

This worked for me on Heart of Fury mode. Long fight but very rewarding.

I mourn for the loss of your companions. But they died in a noble cause ....

Glad the tips worked for you.

I found that moving to a corner was very effective. My fighters formed a screen to take on any heros who got too close, while my mage launched spells at any spellcasters and my clerics hung back to heal. When they weren't healing, they were using their slings to try to disrupt the spellcasters. I also dropped a death fog and some spike stones right in front of the fighters. Good fight...no one died...well, except the bad guys...oh, and my mage...but he got better.
