Wyvern - thanks for doing what I am sure we have already done. I go through the google search pages until I get to Russian porn sites - that's how far I go through the results!

What's so annoying is the graphic patch is designed to fix this problem and obviously does for most players! I would like to know, for curiosity, if anyone has a modern dual core PC with a high end ATI card and is playing it, and to find out if other people with the problem have an NVidia or ATI card. I say this because I heard that Shogun and the first Medieval Total War do not work on 8000 series NVidia cards, but do work on high end ATI cards, and in those games there are mouse control problems too!

Just a random thought... another IW member got a different game to work properly by trying video drivers from Omega. They provide both ATI and NVidia drivers there.

I don't know if it will help or not, but it might be worth a shot to see if it will fix these things.

If you ever do figure out a solution - I'd love to see it added to the TECH THREAD!

One of these days (not that I have a lot of time) I need to haul this game out and replay it myself and since I'm on a totally different machine I'm sure to have the common difficulties!

I ended up being able to get it working in the 2007 SP1 Virtual PC. But granted, I did have a Win98SE CD I kept which is needed to install into the Virtual PC.

Meet me over at a thread I am about to start...!
