It can ba very scary thing. I am a new dad, well 16 months into it. And there was times I was a little scared but just use all the resources you have around you and ask loads of questions. It was good for us because there is a 24 hour help line in Edmonton and there was a nurse there to answer our questions. And the nurses for the first three months would even come to your house so that was very cool. Well just start to get all the sleep you can and stock some of it up.

Never been through that myself, and I don't plan on it any time soon ( I'm only 19 for goodness sake). But here's a piece of advice that'll do you some good. Sleep when the baby sleeps. Don't tell yourself, "Finally some free time to do cleaning," or anything like that. Sleep.

For not having kids that can be some of the best advice out there.

i agree, sleep when you can, hold the baby when you can, and love it all the time, i have 3, a 5 year old, a 3 year old, and a 2 year old, it is hard, but worth it, they are so sweet, and i love them with all of my heart
and firestorm, I was 22 when I had my first kid, it was terrifying, but worth it, those who know, know my son was not supposed to make it past 72 hours, he is now 5, and wonderful, and has surpassed everything the doctors said he would never do

The best I can offer apart from Firestormalpha excellant advice is an attitude. That is to look upon parenthood as the begining of a great adventure. *thanx Lou Reed...newyork*

What's wrong with rain? I love the rain. Though from your description I feel sorry for the cats and dogs. Are the veterenary hospitals on standy by? J/K

Seriously what's so bad about the rain. I usually just sit back and listen until I fall asleep. or you could grab an umbrella and go for a walk if you've got the itch to move around. No reason to not enjoy the rain.

Hi everyone!

Good news! Some of you may know I left my job a few months ago and was out of work. Thankfully I've just got a new job. I start on Monday! Looking forward to actually being able to spend some money for once
