Whew that took a while to read all that, but how about a set up like this for a elven mage
str 11 int 17 wis 10 dex 14(16) (+2) for elf if this is correct con 13(11) (-2) for elf chr 9 I am not hat familiar with 3rd edition except what i have read on message boards. I read that mage's can wear armor now, dont really know how much dex helps your ac. Please advise. Also is there Barbarians in 3rd edition.

Certain armor also effects what kind of AC bonus you can get from dex...example is plate mail, it doesn't matter what your dex is you can only get a +1 bonus from dex when wearing plate. Barbarians are in 3ED. |

As for your other stats, I don't know. What point buy base is that? I've been trying to come up with a couple characters based on a 28 point buy. It's tough. I just bought the 3e handbook and all those feats and skills... they are giving me a headache. I'm going to try to meet some people that play PnP 3e next week and get some experience with the rules before the game comes out. Probably, the PnP will be more fun anyway... if I find adult gamers, that is. The likelihood seems good, though.

The next is medium armour, chainmails and breatplats, scales etc. Heavier armours with lower dex modifier, higher spell failure and higher adjutments to skills. The movement is lowered. All but wizards, rouges, sorcerers have this feat. Note that Rangers, Barbarians and Bards suffer heavily from wearing this type of armours. Rangers free feats by creation only counts when in light armours. Barbarian suffers there greater movment abilities and bards canīt do squat with magic in them. Druids must use natural armours made from organic material, so Hide armour is about the toughest they can get from creation. Heavy armour. Plates. Only Fighters Clerics and Paladins know this from creation. Very low dex modifier, lots of arcane spellfailure and lots of adjutments to skills. Note. Skills that are changed are movements based like sneak, jump climb, acrobatics etc etc. Also shields have itīs own feat. Wizards, rouges sorcereros are not proficient with shields from creation. They also give arcane spell failures and skill adjustments.

PnP should be great. I reember switching from a blue server to a pvp one in EQ I had to rethink my entire character from equipment to playing style. I loved it. To me that wil lbe one of the best features of NWN ( I hope anyway)

This may be a little off of the subject but it is about PVP. What is to keep a DM and several adventures from joining up and creating an advantagous point to set up and killing what ever walked by. I can remember in UO waiting just inside a cave just through the boundary zone with several others and wiping out whole groups rather quickly. What is to keep that from happening in NWN??
