The fight above the Den of the Seven vails in the Promenade is realy getting to me; the one with Smaeluv Orcslicer et al.

My party is:

Cleric/Mage - 7/8
Jaheira- 7/9
Aerie - 7/8
Jan - 7/8

well before going in, cast all the protective spells( armour of faith, barkskin, mirror image, blur, protect evil etc...) and haste.. (very useful! indeed) and u surround the mage and the imp... and attack all at once on the mage.. try to take out the mage first if possible.. and the rest is quite easy... just cast tons of hold person.. (since you all are spellcasters)... and.. tons of extra healing potions just in case...

Don't worry about the rogue too much, go for (in this order) mage, imp, Smaeuluv Orcslicer, that other guy who looks like he could cause damage

I must say, interesting party.
Try a Web and Spider Spawn combo. That's about the only other thing I can think of.

I've done this before as early as straight out of the first dungeon, but only if I have a thief who is good at laying traps and backstabbing. Hmmmm.....

OK, this may not work, but this is what I would try. Hopefully you still have that Summon Air Elemental from the first dungeon? Summon it directly in front of Mencar Pebblecrusher. Have one of your mages cast Polymorph Self. Buff up your party as much as possible (Haste, Resist Fear, Bless, Stoneskins, etc.). Have the mage with the Poly Self up stand directly in front of their mage and Pooky and then shapechange into a mustard jelly. Then have the other two mages simultaneously Lightning Bolt the thief while Jaheira casts Insect Plague.

What will hopefully happen is that the Lightning Bolts will take care of the thief (you may have to reload some), Mencar will be occupied by the elemental (which he can't hurt), the mage and Pookie will waste their spells on the mustard jelly (100% magic resistance), leaving only Smaeluv Orcslicer to be dealt with.

Sounds good in theory, anyway [img]smile.gif[/img]

PCgiant- I don`t have web or spider spawn.

Desuma- I don`t have polymorph self, I learned the Summon Lesser Air Elemental and can`t memorise it yet.

Ilythiiri- I can memorise at most 2 hold persons.

Your main problem is you need at least one tank to soak the their fighters' blows. Also do you have stinking cloud or fireball? Those work well too.

You're missing alot of spells for a party that's so heavy on spellcasters.

Do you have enough money to buy the scrolls, or at least enough to get some Potions of Master Thievery and let Jan go on a shoplifting expedition at Lady Yuth's and the scroll seller's?
