when you use an example, please be precise. it is VERY annoying that someone who uses a bad supposed-to-be-good-example, and having someone else to disporve it.
say, someone compares "Vietnam" with the curent situation to say American gun-ho attitude has killed millions of american lives... well, what the heck? it is not even the same ESSENCE what was the war about in vietnam? no matter how noble US intention might be, you just cannot be right when you helps someone kills his brother this Afhag crap is different. we are hitting terrorism here! the EXTREME few of afhags. THEY are our target! the terrorists! not their people! this is NOT a war on their people! this war is for the SOLE purpose of eliminating terrorism, therefore, a just one. yes, a just one for most world population. if someone trys to hurt you, and he wants you dead unconditionally, it is only REASONABLE to remove him. what? you say to rejoice in the fact that we are all created equal and we should celebrate for not dead yet? well, we can do that, but I'd prefer do it AFTER THE DANGER IS GONE. another point: I dont care if I am dead, but I care that if someone hurts the people I love. you must know the two sides that are at conflicts before you give your judgement, you know? it would be wrong if we blame it on afhag people, or Muslim world, but we DID NOT. this war is AGAINST TERROISM so stop using historical examples that seems to resemble while has nothing to do with current situation |

 But I do see your point, it is annoying when people give irrelevant historical examples. Someone mentioned 'Pearl Harbor' the other day, comparing it to the terrorist attacks on the WTC. Valid point 250. There really is nothing to compare this
conflict to. As you said there are similarities but nothing like it. Face it, there is going to be a war no matter what side of the coin you are on. Good,bad,religous,athiest, it just doesnt really matter. This a new age and time to rewrite history. A new book is opened, let's not forget the old but there is no comparing anymore. |
