arent you supposed to get the serpent wand after you kill kreug? then trade it to the gypsy afterwards?...i killed kreug and all i got was a scoll and key...did i miss something?

When you kill Kreug, you do not have the serpent wand. You get that wand from Kreugs study which is a hidden area in the library. Also, you need to do something else with the wand before you give it to the Gypsy (Trying not to spoil here).
