Mirac, he deleted it after he felt it had served its purpose and he preferred deleting it because it escalated in precisely the sort of arguments/fights we're all trying so hard to prevent.

I suppose he deleted it himself

This really stinks, what's wrong with people getting flaming-like when Skywalker posts something..

Mirac, please don't be so quick to jump to conclusions!
In fact, everybody was very supportive towards him and asked him to stay in GD - he deleted it for a different reason - yes, there was some bickering going on (not directed at him though!) but he also deleted it because he had only intended to explain his reasons for leaving, and since the thread had served that purpose, it was no longer needed.

Well, you're right about that Mel, but it isn't only skywalker's threads. I just want that everybody gets along here on IW's . It's a great place and there are lots of kind people on here. I just want to keep the good moods around here (btw, I was supporting Mark too, he's a good fellow)

Not entirely accurate, Mel. As I understand it, this is what happened:

During the course of the thread, some references were made to the War forum, and to there being a group of "troublemakers" there. I asked the people who made those references who exactly they were referring to, and expressed the concern in particular that they were referring to people like myself. Skywalker read my question and apparently took it to mean that I was thinking he had been talking about me as one of the people who had caused him to leave the war forum. Right before he deleted the thread he posted that he was concerned about that, that I was not one of said persons and said he was thinking about deleting it for that reason, and how he regretted the whole thing. However, I already knew from an earlier conversation with him that he had not meant me at all, and was in the process of posting a reply to reassure hom of that fact when he deleted the whole thing.

Yes, sad but true. It was a good thread which had many good points in it and I am sorry to have contributed to the misunderstanding which led Skywalker to delete it.

I hate to see anyone leave. He should have stayed, but I repsect his decision to do so. I haven't been to the War Forum since just after it was created. So I am at a loss as to what happened there. I honestly hope he comes back to GD after this cools out a bit. We are all adults here and should be able to talk through our troubles. Or at least agree to disagree. Personally I thought the thread was supportive of him. But then again work called me back so I didn't see anything after 12:00 CT.
