Aayliah, the R&B singer who died in a plane crash last weekend, was cast as the title role in the movie _Queen of the Damned_. It's supposed to be released next year.

uhhhh...
I knew of only the Interview w/a Vamp., and heard a rumor years ago about thinking of doing one one Lestat, but they are skipping right to the Queen of the Damned!

C'mon you guys! Let's face it - Anne Rice had a couple of good ideas and almost brought them off with a very few of her books (Interview with a Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, [and Servant of the Bones]). But she is hopeless at endings, and her latest books are just sucking the clotted dregs from a long dead body.. She needs to go into a different genre to refresh her first creativity.

In the foul darkness one figure will emerge to save the world from evil and despair.... Light flashes as his sword comes down, and thunder rolls through the sky when he points his sword up to heaven to signal his victory....People whisper his name as he walks by, evil tries to hide as they sense his presence nearby.... His name?

It's not bad, actually, but has the usual weak ending - not as bad as some, though. It rambles a lot. Good read, despite that. Enjoy! My own personal opinion is that Servant of the Bones is the best thing she wrote. I just wish she'd take a few lessons in how to END a story, dammit! I hate being left hanging vaguely in the air with nothing to hang onto and no safety blanket below.. Unsatisfying, to say the least, lol!
