Just started playing
It's been years, and I never actually finished this game. I came close a couple of times, but never quite...
Ahh well. I've just started playing again, with a half-elf fighter. And I just found one of the reasons why I never finished this game before. My version is on 6CDs. Every time I change area, I have to change disc. Aargh.

Howdy DS,
if you've got some spare gigs on your HDD, you could try the ol' .ini edit : http://home.texoma.net/~bperkins/bal...cd%20swap.html |

Or do a full install. Basically select Custom Install and check off all boxes. Then you should only have to stick in Disc 1 or TotSC.

Re: Just started playing
If you edit the ini file like Kezardin says, you will only need the first CD no matter which area you visit. In fact, I believe the installation is supposed to do just that if you do the full install but for some reason it does not update that particular file.
On an unrelated note, another thing that may help you not quit the game is enhancing it's resolution: http://www.gibberlings3.net/widescreen/ This will allow you to set any resolution that you want (I play at 1440x900 widescreen, and boy does it make a difference).

Re: Just started playing
I've honestly never had to edit the .ini file to play without changing discs. difference between US and UK versions maybe?
