Well, I got a few responses to my crossover battles, so let me give you my picks as to who would win.
1) Superman vs Hulk Superman without a doubt. Hulk can lift mountains, but Superman can move PLANETS. Plus, he has a plethora of other "super-powers", whereas the Hulk just has his strength. 2) Batman vs Capt. America Capt. America. Batman has his batarangs, but Cap has his shield, plus a ton more experience. He's been perfecting his fighting skills since WWII. A better match would be Batman vs Daredevil - I think that would be a draw. 3) Wonder Woman vs Storm Gotta go with Storm. Wonder Woman is strong, but Ororo commands the elements themselves. 4) Green Arrow vs Hawkeye I would have to say Green Arrow. Hawkeye always struck me as a guy who more or less "played" at being a superhero. He never seems to take himself or the "hero business" seriously. Green Arrow is tooo serious sometimes, but he is also more devoted to his archery skills. 5) Green Lantern vs Silver Surfer Silver Surfer, hands down. As mentioned before, all he would have to do is turn yellow and then beat on Green Lantern at his leisure. Plus, no mere ring can equal the Power Cosmic. It NEVER needs recharging. 6) Lobo vs Wolverine Wolverine all the way. Lobo is, without a doubt, the "baddest dude" in the DC Universe. Nobody is meaner. He even knocked out Superman once. But that's part of the problem. Lobo has never faced anybody as mean and dirty as he is when it comes to fighting, whereas Logan has fought Sabertooth on an almost daily basis at times. AND, he has gone toe-to-toe with the Hulk MORE than once. Lobo just wouldn't be prepared for the sheer savagery that Wolverine would throw at him. 7) Flash vs Quicksilver Flash is simply MUCH faster than Quicksilver. As he said in the official crossover (after defeating Quicksilver) "Even the fastest super sports car is slow compared to a jet." 8) Elongated Man vs Mr. Fantastic Mr. Fantastic wouldn't even break a sweat. Elongated Man was nothing more than a pale imitation. 9) Power Girl (Superman's cousin) vs She-Hulk (just to be fair to the ladies) Power Girl for all the same reasons that her cousin could beat up She-Hulk's cousin. 10) Dr. Fate vs Dr. Strange I'd have to call this one a draw. It would depend on who got initiative. 11) Nightwing (adult Robin) vs Daredevil Daredevil. Not by much, mind you. The grown Boy Wonder would give him a good fight, but DD's radar and other skills would win in the end. 12) Catwoman vs Black Cat Black Cat actually has extraordinary agility and strength. Catwoman just has slinky costume. 13) Superboy vs Spiderman Spiderman, but only by the skin of his teeth. He's used to fighting villains much stronger than himself, and is very clever. He always looks for ways to turn the fight to his advantage. Superboy is good, but I think Spiderman would outsmart him in the end. 14) Hawkman vs ArchAngel ArchaAngerl NO CONTEST. He can launch a "flechette attack" with his wings and send dozens of razor tipped blades flying towards his opponent. Hawkeye's wings aren't even real. He has to strap them on. 15) Shang-Chi vs Iron Fist Iron Fist. This would be another VERY close fight, but Shang-Chi doesn't have that "Iron Fist punch" that can take out an opponent with one hit. He could probably take a couple of those hits, which Iron Fist wouldn't be expecting, but he wouldn't hold up for long.,

Well, that was fun, but the number of battles may have "overwhelmed" some people.
So let's mix it up a little bit and list so not-so-obvious match-ups. Who do you think would win this fight? Superman vs Silver Surfer

Cerek, your knowledge of superheroes is a whole deal more encyclopedic than mine.
What I know about Silver Surfer is so limited, I don't think I would be competent to comment on your question! Sorry! I suppose I would cast my vote in favor of Superman, though... After all, he's the best, isn't he? I mean, can the Silver Surfer budge a planet? BTW, Cerek, do you know about the Specter from DC -- who sometimes refers to himself as 'the Wrath of God'? If their going toe to toe the surfer cant come close to supes physical strength but at range the power cosmic beats heat vision any day Surfer couldnt put away Drax who is like a flying Hulk so I guess superman would win.

LOL, K.T., I used to read a LOT of comics when I was a kid. Almost exclusively DC back then (Superman, Batman, Green Lantern/Green Arrow, and Justice League of America).
Yes, I am familiar with The Spectre, the character whose looks CAN kill. He was definitely NOT somebody to mess with. Don't know if his power would work on superheroes, but it would make HIM the most powerful of all if it did. When I was in college, I went into a local comic book store and picked up a back issue of Daredevil. That began a looong run of collecting Marvel comics (Spiderman, Hulk, and X-Men) I don't nearly as much about Silver Surfer's powers as some others. But I do know that he once went up against Thor, the God of Thunder, and basically fought him to a draw (Marvel used to love to pit superheroes against each other). Silver Surfer gets his power from a force known as the Power Cosmic. Basically, it is an unlimited source of energy that he can tap in to and manipulate however he wants. So his powers vary depend on what he wants to do. In a fight with Superman, the determining factor would be whether the Power Cosmic "qualified" as magical energy - because Superman is vulnerable to magic. I don't think it could be considered "pure" magical energy, but I think it is so strong that Superman would still take damage from it. Surfer and Superman can both "take a lot of damage." The Surfer's skin acts like a suit of armor, preventing a lot of things from hurting him at all. He can also "absorb" energy. If Superman uses his Heat Vision, Surfer could just absorb it and then turn around and Blast Supes with his own energy. It would be a knock-down, drag-out fight for sure....but I would have to give the advantage to Silver Surfer. WHY? Because (like I mentioned about Lobo earlier), NOBODY in the DC Universe is in Superman's class. He is stronger and tougher than almost ALL the other heroes combined. Because of this, he tends to be somewhat arrogant in battle, figuring he can take whatever the other guy dishes out and return it interest. That's why Batman (an ordinary human with NO superpowers) was able to beat him. He knows Superman better than any other person, but he also knows his strengths and weaknesses. He basically used Supermans arrogance against him, because Superman didn't think Batman could actually hurt him. Also, Silver Surfer isn't stupid. He's not going to stand toe-to-toe with the big red S. He'll keep his distance and keep zapping him with the Power Cosmic. (and Surfer can easily match Supermans speed with his surfboard). BTW, my knowledge of comics may be extensive, but it is also somewhat out-dated. I haven't read a comic in almost 10yrs now, so a LOT of what I "know" might not be true any longer.

The Specter is one of the eeriest comic book figures I've ever known. Silver Surfer vs the Specter ought to be interesting!
You tried Freedom Force? [ 07-06-2002, 08:49 AM: Message edited by: K T Ong ]
