In Morrowind, you could put stuff on the ground and it would never disappear, which was handy for storing stuff. Is that the case in Oblivion?

I'm still too poor to get a house, even the one in Anvil, so I'm thinking if I could just leave some of my stuff on the ground when I go questing I could just recollect it when I get back and move on to the next city, rather than having to go the the trouble of finding anywhere more permanent to keep it.

Thanks

I've left enchanted items on the floors of dungeons and returned to find them intact even after the dungeon has repopulated. I don't think the radiant AI is all that it's been hyped up to be. I can't recall ever having lost items that i've left out of a container. But Murphy reckons the first item you do lose will be one you really wanted to keep.

Apparently there's no guarantee that if you leave something on the ground that it will still be there when you return.

Thanks

Now I have managed to scrape up some funds and have bought the Anvil manor. I know there's a quest that goes with it, but I would like to know if after I've done the quest or something does the manor get fixed up so it's not so dark and boarded up and such? I am having buyer's remorse

Yes, the Manor looks really nice after you clean it up and finish the quest. And the quest is fun, for me it was the thoughest fight so far.
