I've spoken to all 3 witnesses but it still won't trigger a showdown with the tanner. I don't think its registered that I have the strange outfit off the beggar. Any way I can fix this? Cheers.

MY GOOD FRIEND... you have to attack the tanner in order to make him reveal his crimes. go to his shop and attack him... he will run away and u shoudl follow him. but beware the room downstairs is heavily trapped. he'll run away again and follow him. then u will fight ghouls and rune assasins.

TIP: Make a circle around the Tanner with your NPCz and your PC. make sure he cant escape. keep attacking him and every time you do that you will get around 22350 XP.. hehe, very cheesy!!!

You need not attack him. Enter his house/shop and tell him that you know everything and that he cannot escape justice. Folow him downstairs. Turn AI off before going downstairs! You'll see why soon.

Maybe you havent talked to them in the right order?
First, talk to the beggar, and get all the information he has. Then, talk with Rose Bouqet ( ), and get the information from her. Go to the merchant right next to her, and get all the items she shall smell on. Then she will recognize to bark-thing, and the tanner will be revealed. Then go talk to Rejiek the Tanner, and he will admit his crimes.

But the easier ways is to go in to the tanner, and either attack or pickpocket him. He will then also run downstairs.

I think it depends on how you want to expose Reijak (sp?).

If you want to turn him into the Inspector before confronting him, then I think that all you have to do is talk to the begger and get the items for Rose Bouquet to smell. Then you can tell the inspector that you suspect the Tanner and he will reward you. Then go to the tanners house and look for the inspectors body on the second floor to take back to the Chief Inspector in the Goverment District (don't forget to go down 1 more level to fight some baddies and treasure).

If, however, you wish to confront the Tanner first, you need to talk to 1) the begger 2) Rose Bouquet 3) the little boy (forgot name) and 4) Mrs. Cragmoon. At least in my games if I hadn't done all 4, the Tanner would just tell me that it was my word against his and to leave or else.

Hope this helps

Easiest just to attack the terd, follow through to the basement second level, beat the baddies, return to the inspector, and then follow through with the next part of the quest off in the Umar hills...

Actually, I think that's Trademeet where you find him next, not Umar Hills. They have another problem altogether.
