Excellent! Getting your own place is always a big thing. Make sure you remember to do your washing each week - I'm sure you will, you're a girl!

Congrats and Happy Moving! It's a really exciting venture. I think of my university days as my first 'moving out' time because I moved to another state. But my first apartment was a little one bedroom place I shared with two other people and a cat. I got a fold up cot in the living room. Not too glamorous, but it was 'mine'!
I think I was most floored by the first time I walked into my own house, though! The knowledge that I could paint every room purple if I had the urge (LOL well if I had money for paint and energy for painting, of course!)any time of the day or night, just blew me away. No landlords to ask for permission and if something leaked I could call a plumber immediately, no waiting for landlord to get to it. On the flip side- if something needs repairs, I have to find someone to fix it and pay for the work, so I guess that evens it out a bit. That's great you have shops nearby and won't have to drive for everything! I remember that being the big bonus for me when I went to university. I was in the dorms and they were near a shopping plaza that had a department store and grocery store in it. I agree, the budgeting was the toughest thing to do when I was first out on my own. LOL, not sure it got any easier as things have progressed, either! I'm with Wellard, post a pic or two when you get a chance! [ 04-07-2005, 08:42 AM: Message edited by: Cloudbringer ]

Pics will be coming! I think I'll be moving in in about three weeks.
LOL re painting, Cloudy... I've already enlisted my dad (AKA landlord) to paint my walls around Christmas time . And of course, as is proper for landlords, my parents have to give me two weeks written notice before they come over

Gee I dunno Mel, are you sure you're ready for this? I mean you're only what, 24 this year? I'm only playing, though - I'm just jealous that I don't have my own place yet (well, a place to myself, that is). Congratulations on standing on your own two feet, and good luck with everything.
