I have recently got given a copy of Morrowind (it's a Russian copy, if anyone wanted to know) and I have a few questions about this game, since I have only really played BG and Myst type things.
1) Can you learn spells? If so, how? 2) Are there certain things which affect the learning of scrolls (if it is possible?) 3)How do you pickpocket? 4) The highest you can get on any ability is 100? 5) Is there a max level? 6) What did teh head (looked like a dragons head) atht I stole from someone do? LIkewise with teh rusty old key 7) Can you read teh descriptions of things you have in you inventory? How? Cheers in advance DS [ 01-09-2006, 08:32 AM: Message edited by: Dragonshadow ]

(1) You learn a spell by buying it or by creating it at the spellmaker. More deatils:
- Spell sellers offer "spells" in their dialog menu. Click, select, buy, pay. - Spellmakers offer "spellmaking" in their dialog menu. You can create only those spells, which spell effects you already know. For example, if you want a healing spell, then you must buy some healing spell first. Now, you know the spell effect "Restore Health" and you can create spells with the "Restore Health" spell effect. (2) Scrolls aren't learned, they are used like any other magical item (scrolls are "one use" magical items). Anybody can use a scroll for casting a spell. (3) By Ctrl-Click. But be careful (4) No. 100 is the highest base value your character can reach. But this value can be boosted over 100 by means of spells or magical items. (5) Yes and no. Tere is no real level cap but you can reach a new level only if you improve your "important skills" by 10. Because you can train any skill only to 100, there is a max level: when all your "important skills" become 100. Ehm ... (6) ??? (7) By placing the cursor on them, no click is needed. You cannot get more info than this. Note that items have no "narratory descriptions" in Morrowind, only the "dry" list of features and stats.

As for the many other questions you're likely to have once you get into the game, there's a semi-recent thread here that'll be of great help to a newcommer to Morrowind. *Edit: Here's that link. [ 01-10-2006, 05:53 AM: Message edited by: Sever ]
