How the heck do you stop that spell?
I've tried everything I can think of:
Bezerker Rage
Magic resistance (Potions)
Free Action

Nothing seems to stop it, its really quite sad watching my whole party get imprisioned in under 20 seconds.

Can anyone help?

Use Protection from Magic..Check your manual and see what school
of magic it is from. I believe Abjuration. (Don't quote me on
that one). The spell makes you immune to it.

Protection from Magic Scrolls (2 in the whole game I think from Ribald, use judiciously)

Spell Immunity: Abjuration (Spell Immunity is one of the most powerful spells in the game if used right, although I've seen Demi-Lich Imprisonments cut through Spell Immunity sometimes, maybe its an innate ability which does not fall under the "spell" category)

Spell trap works as well, thoug it can only protect you from four lv-9 spells

Eh? Beserker's Rage should work against Imprisonment. I assume you are dealing with Kangaxx?

Judging from the 'whole party in 20 seconds' comment.

Here's a list of what works.

Berserker's Rage
Barbarian's Rage
Spell Immunity_Abjuration
Spell Trap( limited, lasts very short)
Protection from Magic scrolls( buy from Ribald in the Adventurers Mart)

------------------
If not a Sorcerer casting total oblivion, then a Cavalier meting out justice. Otherwise, I think I will just be a Blade and torture my enemies with, "My Heart Will Go On".

Platinium Sorcerer of ALSB, Aerie Loving Sacred Band! She's MeowRrrr, and more!

Sorcerer Spell List
Dragon Slaying Tips

And the priest spell Shield of the Acorns? Doesn't that one work as well?

It doesn't? Gee... that sucks.

Then why would anybody want to choose Barbarian over a Berserker???? I fail to see the appeal of a Barbarian more and more.

I would have used protection from magic had I known what school it was in. I didnt bring my manuals to BGII with me to college, and I couldnt find the spell in IWD, which I only have because I purchased them after I got here.

I'll try spell trap and protection from magic for my PC. Maybe having a multi-class will pay off for once. Im trying to overcome my general dislike for them, but with it so strong, and going back to Pool of Radiance, its kinda hard.

Heh heh, I do not think a shield made out of nuts will help you.

"I fear you not! For I am protected by the Salty Macademia +5!"

Shield of Archon you mean.
