Have you tried the search function. it is found in the "start" menu.
If you can't find it using search, I'd say that the file dosn't exist on your comp.

Of course I have used search, but it is a hidden file somewhere deep in the delves of Windows XP, which I need to locate but cannot.

Thankyou, I know about hidden folders & files etc (a-level computing ), but getting to grips with XP is a bit new for me, didnt know hidden files were excluded from the search!

Nae worries mate, I can program and build computers, I jsut couldnt find that file, only been on XP 3 days and the search feature is different.
It is a file which dictates what windows wants to show you and what it doesnt, tells it what to hide etc.
