I got home from the pub tonight to find two envelopes on the floor. The first contained 9 (yes NINE!) F.A. Cup final tickets for Arsenal v Liverpool in Cardiff. The second contained 2 tickets for the 1st day of the Lords test against Australia on July 19th. (That's cricket)

Good luck Donut, enjoy yourself. Bummer the final won't be at Wembley though.

Thanks Charlie, I'll be perfectly honest with you though. I've been to Wembley so often recently that I'm sick of the place. Arsenal played all of their Champion's League matches there for two years and I don't have any fond memories of the stadium. The seats are poor, the view terrible and beer and food are expensive. The toilet facilities are a disgrace and it's very difficult to get away from.

I'm looking forward to a weekend away in Welsh Wales and I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if the National Stadium was built in the midlands. On the other hand I have some feel for the history of Wembley, and every player, at home and abroad, aspires to play there. It's famous the world over (the football playing world thatis )

Why should it cost £660m to build it? The millenium stadium in Cardiff only coast £120 and the Stade de France in Paris and the Olympic Stadium in Sydney both cost £240m. It's another great cock up to rank along side the millenium dome.

I couldn't agree more. To be honest the seating, toilets and prices are of little consequence to me. It's just the feel of "being there" that's the important thing. Obviously being an Arsenal fan your trips there are kind of commonplace. I, on the other hand, as a Palace fan get the chance to go there on very rare occasions, although we had a good run in the nineties. Your points regarding the rebuilding etc are spot on. Personally I feel the National Stadium should remain there.....if only for histories sake.
