To play Sacrifice, anyone here ever played Sacrifice? I think that it beats most games that I have played so far.

Ive never tried it but I have seen it and it looks a lot like Age of Empires or that type of game. It is on sale at the local computer store here for 25$cdn. Maybe I should pick it up.

It is nothing like AOE, it's unique.

What kind of game is Sacrifice? What's the premise?

Without giving away too much of the plot, all I can say is:

"You play the role of a mage that has left his homeplane for reasons unknown(At the beginning of the game.), he arrives in a strange new plane and prays for knowledge of this new plane, the 5 gods of the plane then show up, James, Persephone, Stratos, Pyro and Charnel, they bicker a bit and then give you a choice of which one of them you want to join, you will be given the chance to change your allegiance later, and some gods are allied with others giving you the chance to experience half of one campaign and half of another."

The game itself is about defeating enemy mages(Most of the time) this is done with summoned creatures and spells, depending on what gods you serve or have served your choice of spells and summonable creatures change, to defeat an enemy mage you have to reach their altar and sacrifice a creature there, the mage then has a certain amount of time to interrupt the ceremony or you will have to start over, the enemy mage can also do this to you.

Summoning creatures requires two things: Mana and one or more souls, whenever a creature is killed it's soul lies around, ready for anyone to pick up, the souls of enemy creatures have to be cleansed and transported back to your altar before you can use them however.

This is just a short bit about the game, I can't write more without it being spoilers.

Its good but they should have made it less third person shooter and more like oh say Shogun total war, the visuals are warped and really cool.

Y'know, you actually don't fight yourself, so I wouldn't call it a shooter, your offensive spells are also a bit weak, at least, when you play as James' friend they are, except for Bore of course.

I copied it off a friend and never got round to finishing it, play with Charnel and its a very different game. I still liked it actually Giants Citizen Kabuto is the closest thing to it if your looking for simialar games.
