Its really boring when my game crashes because of... bugs???
I can´t view the stats of any mace i find ( +1 mace mace of disruption...)
Can´t kill the wyvern in the portal otherwise the game go wild.
Get stuck in the most weird places.
Lose very important gems ( no i didnt drop them )... portal gem, sun gem.
Sometimes when i quicksave i get a blue screen and ... woow auto quicksave every 2 sec ( maybe windows problem )
The list goes on and on .... is there any solution for all of this or do i have to reinstall BG2 ??

Well u should feel lucky that at least urs is at set points..... mine crashes at random places all the time.... but ESPECIALLY on Cut-Scenes and going into the Underdark.... and only 3 times has my computer survived a movie without having an Illegal Operation.... Its EXTREMLY annoyning.... but try Baldurdash 4 a fix to ur problems... just download the bug patch for ToB or SoA.. whicheva 1 u have

That's sound fairly bad, i have had no problems what ever, i'm running win XP, i suggest u re install, first back up your save games. Also update your graphics card drivers and reinstall direct X which may help.

good luck

On to topic..
My BG2 has never ever crashed for me. And i have played it for about 1,5 years now.

On to WinXP...
Glorfindel that rumor you have heard is so wrong. Once installed you can switch to other OS with a simple command in DOS for example "Format C:" should work. Then just boot the computer with a startdisc and install whatever you want.

I have run WinXP for about 4-5 months and it has never crashed.
I would say that is the far best OS from Microsoft.
