That filth Yoshimo just left my party after turning me over to Irenicus. Problem is that now my only thief is Imoen. She can't defuse a trap for her life! (particularly one in the east part of Bodhi's gauntlet).

Anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Potions of master thievery this is about as good as you are going to get for now. You can also cast detect traps (Minsc and Aerie I believe have it) and knock spells. Imoen does suck as a thief, but unfortunately there is not much to do. I used her throughout the chapter 4&5 and made it through alive so it is not undoable

I've got to admit it's getting better, it's getting better all the time

Thanks, that's helpful. Does the spell "detect traps" also disarm them? That's the part that's killing me!

No, find traps spells only finds them. It can not be used to disarm them.

By the way, if you are going to put information about events that are not known to everyone, i.e., the fate of a NPC, you should place a spoiler warning somewhere in your topic or message.

There are some traps in Bodhi's lair that cannot be disarmed or found, especially in the room with all the spikes.

You gave away a *HUGE* plot spoiler in your original post!! Please edit it or I'm pretty sure someone'll come along and flame you for it!

Please note that there are rules on this board about spoilers, and I respectfully request you to comply to them. Many posters (not to mention lurkers) are playing BG2 for the first time, and not many appreciate having the plot spoiled for them because of an unmarked spoiler.

Note: Give your thief time!!! Count to 21 usually does it.
Though this does NOT assure disarming traps, merely detection.
Imoen is NOT a thief.
She IS a mage that can use bows and swords.
Same for Nalia.

Imoen is a good theif.... you just need to know what items she needs to beef up a little. BTW Aerie and Imoen are a great combo. Nalia on the other hand is the *worst* theif in Bg2 (lvl 4, why?) and to be honest it's best to make do with just Aerie untill you get Imoen and then use her for all your high level spells...
