BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The U.S. military said on Monday it was checking unconfirmed reports that al Qaeda ally Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had been captured in Iraq.
The Jordanian-born Zarqawi, who Washington says is its number one enemy in Iraq, is accused of masterminding a string of suicide bombings and of the execution of an American and a South Korean hostage.

The reports suggested that Zarqawi had been captured near the town of Hilla, south of Baghdad and in the Polish military area of responsibility.

"We are working on that issue," a U.S. military official said.

A Polish spokesman added: "I cannot confirm that information... When the operation is ongoing at the moment I cannot make any comment."

Washington is offering $10 million for information leading to the death or capture of Zarqawi.
I am somehow skeptical... but let's hope that [insert bad word(s) of choice here] has been bagged for real...

God, I hope this is right. We'll behead HIM. Naa.. thats too good, and lowers us to the animal he is. LIFE in prison.

But let the CIA 'talk' with him to get all the terror cells.

Odd timing too, with the handover and all.

According to a US Military spokesman in Iraq, they don't have him. Got it from a Dutch news source, so no link. I'm sure something will pop up later today though.

Yeah, LIFE... but in an Iraqi prison... that's gonna be fun
Just don't execute him, it would be too merciful...

I agree with Grojlach on this. He should be treated like any other prisoner taken by western nations. I do think however all stops should be taken out in the interrogation of this man...HE is definatly going to be able to offer up some goods...if he is ever caught...should be a perfect subject for chemical interrogation.
