Why do you think this is true? All your going to do is convert a lot of small carbon-dioxide producers (cars) into a few carbon-monoxide producers (steam reformation plants to produce all that hydrogen). [/QUOTE]Ah, but carbon monoxide is a criteria pollutant under the Clean Air Act and plants emitting it will either "cap out" under the limits or install pollution controls. Plants which are large enough to qualify as major emitters will have the added process of the protection of significant deterioration (PSD) portions of the CAA, which require emissions modelling and review prior to construction. These facilities will be subject to periodic inspections and monitoring of emissions at the stack. While there are requirements for car production and car fleets, cars are not monitored as individual emission sources. Plants are. And, at plants, there are a variety of "scrubbers" and other such equipment to get the CO out of the emissions.

On topic ... The world is changing and Nature intends to keep herself balanced. Whether the cause is natural or unnatural, there is a the law of balance and equilibrium. True man's living habits and creations are affecting that balance. I don't buy one bit from those that say we aren't affecting what is happening in nature. We are here, part of this world, part of this universe. Think outside of yourself and realize we are one. Maybe then true compassion and consideration for others and nature can be acknowledged and practiced.
