Just for clarification (and this is from a Mod standpoint), as Epona said, no one person *owns* a thread, per se, not even if they initiated it. Once you post, it belongs to the community, and especially to everyone who participates in it. Destroying the thread without just cause is a "crime" in my book.

I absolutely agree. It's like walking off the football pitch and taking your ball home just because you don't like the score.

I'm still smarting because of the deletion of a thread where I introduced Inspector Donut of the Sarcasm Police. It took me ages to compose it and the originator deleted it because people were spamming it.

I would be all for not letting people delete whole threads. If anyone felt stongly that one of their threads should be deleted they could appeal to the moderators and let them decide.
