I downloaded AGAIN another patch, but get the same message whenever I run the 3Dsetup.exe file: Windows 0 error running c:\windows\TEMP\install\3Dsetup.exe What a pain that I can't complete the game and can't get a useful patch!! I downloaded the files from Wizardr8.com and used the downloaded section to find places that have the patch. HELP ME!!

It shouldn't be pointing to your /Temp folder. You should be unzipping the patch into your Wiz8 folder writing over the old files.

I copied the files into the Wizardry8 directory after they went to the temp one. But I still have the problem of the game not loading me into Ascension Peak. What is wrong here?

i believe if you just copied them, then you may have done it incorrectly. the most common thing with a lot of these patch problems has to do with the installation. you say that you copied them to your Wiz files, but the error clearly states it is pointing to the Temp Directory. your installation has gone haywire. first, go to that address in your temp file and DELETE it!! then, i recommend you find your original download or make a new one, and reopen it with winzip. when you do this, do NOT let it go into a temp files. instead, in winzip, make sure you highlight every single file and EXTRACT the files. do NOT copy them. extract them. upon extracting them, point WinZip to your "C:\Program Files\Sirtech\Wizardry 8" addy. *~* please be especially sure that you extract ALL files. *~* also, allow it to OVERWRITE every existing file. *~* and, keep all folder names. for overwriting, pay special attention to these 2 files: 3DSetup.exe Wiz8.exe. if those aren't overwritten, then you are going to encounter all kinds of oddball things in your game. let us know if that helps. if not, we can come up with more help!
