That would have been interesting. I read an article on that scenario the week before the election. It would have been entirely possible for Bush to be the President and Edwards to be the VP. Yep, that woulda shook things up a bit.

You talk about Osama bringing in votes show me the evidence of the number of votes, back you position up. My postiton is the citizens of the USA votes are the ones that count, Show me the vote total for your native country in the election of the US president? Now show me where the total vote count in your native country was used to decide the election of the President of the USA?(Opps there I go agian asking questions to get you to back up you posititon)
You're asking me to prove why a=b when I was saying a=z.

Irrelevent.
[/QUOTE]That is the biggest bunch of bulvine excrement I believe I've ever read on any board. If that was the case your reply to me would have been you are correct John, the votes of non US citizens do not matter in who gets elected in the USA, but prehaps they should. I would have replied maybe they should and maybe they shouldn't in a free country where the citizens get to vote for what ever reason they want to vote, many things are taken into account. You would have replied to my questions as follows: 1) My money didn't vote for anybody I gave no money any cadidate OR my money voted for candidate XYorz because I gave money to their campaign. 2) I didn't vote for anybody because I'm not a citizen of the USA, OR I voted for candidate xyorZ, OR None of your business the election held in the USA are secret and I don't want to tell you. 3) Feelings don't vote they are emotions, people vote and yes sometimes people vote based on feelings.

We don't have to be attacked physically for there to be a detrimental effect on our countries. It's often said that when the US sneezes the rest of us catch a cold.

No it's a conquered province of the American Empire

That's news to me, well since it's the 51st State and part of the UNION now. Who gives a rats rear end what the rest of the world thunks.
Americans. Many Americans care what the world thinks, and will even more if China chooses to go hard after the money America owes them. The billions. You have been watching the trade deficit with China grow into the billions each year right? Do you know how to spell: DEPENDANT. China buys up vast amounts of US currency to keep the Yuan pegged to the US dollar. The proof is in the USA caving to Chinese demands over Taiwan.

C'mon John keep up.

The more jobs are outsourced, the more dependent the USA will be on India too. The weaker the dollar, the more the USA will be dependent on EXPORTS, which means suddenly things are reversed, and the USA will be vulnerable to the type of tarrifs they have inflicted on the rest of the world for generations.

I'd say what the rest of the world thinks is pretty important.

Like Japan did? Wow. What if they decide to legislate Shiite fundamentalist Islam?
Oh yeah, they've been trying that lately.

Quote:
Iraqis will vote in their elections not US citizens.
Nope, the US citizens just voted on Iraqs direction and near future.

Quote:
It is their democracy if they don't want it then they will be able to remove it. Sure we gave them guidance on how to set it up, but they decided for themselves. or have you not heard a wise man seeks council?
You are truly naive if you believe that.
And what of the "plan to bring democracy to the middle east" that centres around Iraq?

This is why it's important for America's democracy to be sqeaky clean. Otherwise who can ask anyone to accept it's imposition?

Read some of the transcripts from soldiers who state that the Iraqis don't want them there.
I'm truly glad Hussein is no longer. He was a Hitler. But the job is done. Take him and get out.

Quote:
Told to imintate it? Show me where in the Iraqi consitution they will have an electoral college as we do? Or will they have a paralimentary system closer to what is in the western countries of Europe?
"Congress" and "the Senate" are simply parliaments under another name. Australia has a Senate under the Westminster system for example. America's democratic process is not limited to the electoral college system of choosing a president. You have state representatives for the Senate, and representative members for the congress. Not that dissimilar.

In any case it's all a far cry from the Islamic theocracy the Mahdists are trying to establish. Like the one found in Iran. It's a far cry from the monarchies in surrounding Jordan, Arabia and Syria. You're arguing over what spices go in the baked chicken recipe in using the electoral college excuse. They don't want chicken at all. They want hommous.

Are you joking? Or are you just still whining about 2000?

Jeb Bush publicly stepped out of all the vote counting, so that there wouldn't be any problems or rumors that he had any influence. But the liberals don't want to hear that, so it never happened, sparking every consipracy theory they can think of. Anything to make them happy in their own little "this is the way it should be" world.

Whatever floats your boat, keep on hanging onto it.

Oh yeah, and while others don't say anything back about it, keep your condecending comments to yourself. That stuff doesn't fly with me.
