My aunt has hens and they're always laying eggs, but one of them was getting all clucky and wanting her eggs to actually hatch and she was quite vicious if you tried to take the eggs away. So my aunt bought some baby chicks and one night when the hen was asleep on her nest, she took the eggs and replaced them with the chicks and the hen looked after them after that as if they were her own. It was so cute

Sheesh, we had a lovebird once...it was the meanest creature ever to exist! It bit everyone repeatedly...stupid pet store!

It was not terribly smart, either...let it out for a few minutes to fly around the house and it goes straight for the mirror

Well, i can let it nibble on my lip, and it won't bite me, unlike other people who've tried it. I guess it recognizes the person that feeds it.

The egg is still in the cage, and it's still guarding it. But i've gathered some info on what to do. From what i understand, and what's in the best interrest of the bird, is to take the egg out of the cage and get rid of it. As it looks like this is gonna be a rainy day, and we won't be able to go to work, i have plenty of time to do that today.

Wear a thick glove... and offer it to the bird to bite... While it has a good hold, the other hand nips in and takes the egg...
