how do you start the game with your own customized party?
every time i start a new game, the only character i can create is the main character. is it possible to create all 6 characters in your party? and if yes, then how do you do it? |

You need to start a Multi player game, then choose to make all the characters. Let me suggest leaving one or two spots open for NPC's, and their quests.

Select (in this order) Play, Multiplayer, Connect, TCP/IP, then CREATE GAME. Select NEW GAME, then roll/import your characters.
Next time you want to play, do the same but select LOAD GAME. EDIT: PS. It is perfectly possible to invite your friends into this kind of game to control a character or two for you if so desired. ------------------ It's bleedin dark down here, slippery too. Yes, the multiplayer game has the same storyline, but if you leave no room for NPCs you cannot do their quests. If this is the first time you play I strongly suggest that you keep at least three NPC slots open

Yes you can play with six of your own characters but as Melusine said; you won't have any room for NPC's and therefore you will be limited on the XP available to you. Personally I'd only leave two slots max' for NPC's. One for long winded quests and one for the love em'n'leave em quick NPC quests.

rono......
*sighing* one thing. you will miss out on wonderful party interaction if you do it that way. personally, i suggest you play it thru single player first. its the only way you can experience making new friends, getting boyfriends or girlfriends and enjoying all the programmed bells and whistles that make bg2 stand out from all other current rpgs. otherwise, it will be like playing a longer, bit more developed icewind dale. even the opening sequence, where you pick up 3 of your original teammates is full of interaction that still never fails to entertain me. i don't see why you would want to pass up any of that on your first run through. but if you do, please keep in mind, you are only getting half of a game. nothing can quite compare to listening to your team as you're traveling: korgan complaining because everyone is a goody two shoes and aerie needs to have her mouth sewn shut. minsc jumping in to defend the honor of his witch. yoshimo and mazzy sparring verbally. or in battle, hearing a heartbroken party member scream in distress when a teammate is killed. setting up camp and hearing aerie's cries during the night, because of her terrible dreams. while walking from town to town, jan starts telling another one of his "true" stories and everyone yelling at the same time "shut up, shut up, shut up!" sorry. but i am on my 4th play thru and it just isnt the same game as when i do an mp game, as you're suggesting. please! try it as it's written the first time. balor...
yes. while in the sp game, go to your char record/information page and export your char out. give it a name you will remember. when you create the mp game, then when you are in the creation screen, you can choose the custom option to import her. V***V |
