Well @ 6.30 my wife will wake me up (she is a MAJOR Christmas nut still acts like a 2 year old on Christmas) we will then pack up the presents and head over to my parents house for Christmas breakfast (fruit, and breakfast pastries, nothing hot)
Then we will unwrap some presents and give my parents their presents. Then we are hopping back into the car and driving to her parents house, picking them up and driving to her sisters where we will unpack the rest of the presents and eat lunch. We will then relax in their spa for the rest of the afternoon. Next year not so much driving as we are having breakfast and Lunch at our house. [ 12-08-2004, 07:02 PM: Message edited by: T-D-C ]

Here's a littlle gift opening tip we know in Germany that many have not figured out.
Have the kids open the stuff on Christmas eve! Our tradition is (or was then) a little different. But the idea is that you (the parents) don't have be up early. The kids will go down and play with all their new stuff and you can easily sleep 'til 10!

Christmas morning will probably involve rushing to get ready, to have a barbeque breakfast at my Aunt's, for which we will inevitably be late (we always are). We usually have a traditional lunch somewhere (it used to be my Great Aunt's, but that has changed the last couple of years as she wants to be able to relax and enjoy Christmas), and then we're having afternoon tea at home. My sister (+ her husband) are coming down from Gosford (or does one come up from Gosford?).

I'll be spending time with my family and my family's friends. An estimated 13 people will find their way to my house.
Yay, this year I'll probably get lots.. loads.. no, make that s***loads of presents that are somehow related to Japan. Sweet. Christmas -> New Year's -> my birthday. |
