Is NWN a single player game as well as internet play. Is it like BG2 just with 3rd edition rules :saywat: ?

Two big differences: You won't be able to assemble parties of six as you did in BG. Instead you will have one 'henchman' you can control to some limited degree. And you will play without pausing (which was only necessary because of the burden of having to control up to 6 characters anyway).

Well he's right, but can you not pause on single player mode? I like mages, and I would like to pause when I'm scrolling through spells at least offline.

On the flip side you can play on a given server with up to 63 other players at once, and the server world itself can be connected up to any number of other servers through portals. So, one character per player, minus any followers or such your character might have, but you can hang out with your 63 friends in one giant adventuring party if you all so desire.

I heard that you do can have a party in the single player game, made of NPCs which you have very limited control over. You can give them items and stuff i think (although i'm not sure) and you can give them suggestions, but the control is nowhere near the level of bg2 for instance.

as for the campaign, i think it's quite a bit smaller than bg2's and there are fewer paths to take. more like an expansion pack i would think. anyway, the point is to get you into the game really and introduce you to your character. the nature of your party in the single player game will be similar to online play, because you wo'nt be able to directly control your fellow adventurers, only suggest things to them.

Experianced players of the infinite engine-games have learned to use hotkeys (assigned magicg missile to the key 'M' and the spel will fire when the button is pressed), and NWN will also feature this.

No, BG II does not use 3rd edition rules. PoR II sort of used 3rd edition rules, but not really. NWN will be the first CRPG to use 3rd edition rules.
